Arco de Baúlhe is a Portuguese village of the Municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto and the District
of Braga that was the seat of the extinct Parish of Arco de Baúlhe, a parish that was founded in 1870.
It had 4.49 ksqm of area, 1 669 inhabitants (2011) and, therefore, a population density of 371.7
hab/ksqm.
In 2013, as part of a national administrative reform, the Parish of Arco de Baúlhe was added to the Parish of Vila Nune to form a new parish called Union of the Parishes of Arco de Baúlhe and Vila Nune.
The population of Arco de Baúlhe was elevated to the category of village on 1991-08-16.
The former Parish of Arco de Baúlhe had 63 streets, one of the most famous being the Avenida Capitão Elísio de Azevedo. There are also the Rua 5 de Outubro, the Rua do Seixo, the Rua da Estação and others.
Festa em Honra de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios
The chapel of Our Lady of Remedies was restored in 2000 and in 2013 the area of the same was requalified. The chapel was elevated to a sanctuary, on September 27,2023, by decree of José Cordeiro, primate archbishop of the Archdiocese of Braga.
The feast of Our Lady of Remedies takes place on the first weekend of September, in which it has as one of the highlights the procession of Our Lady of Remedies with andors and figurants.
This pilgrimage is announced a month before with the Erguida do Pau da Bandeira, in which everyone is invited to wear traditional costumes, in a procession that runs through the streets of Arco de Baúlhe and where they take offerings to auction accompanied by concertinas and ox carts, carrying the wooden pole of several meters with the bicolor flag (yellow and blue) on its top.
At the end of the journey the pole is raised by several men in the place of the Serra, with the help of the ropes and is officially proclaimed the feast in Honor of Our Lady of Remedies.
